Group shoot with Dan Tidswell and Ayla Rose – NSFW
I’m not normally a photographer that enjoys the experience of going on group shoots, but I had been looking at the work of Ayla Rose and thought this shoot down on the coast near Great Yarmouth one afternoon would be an ideal … and affordable … way of meeting and working with her. And of course with Dan and the other photographers.
It was a nice relaxed day strolling along the coastal path and beach and we stopped at a couple of points to get some lifestyle and more posed photos. Then we came across some trees that had fallen off the cliff-side and now had obviously been on the beach for some time as they were weather-beaten and distressed by the water from the sea. They really were quite striking and graphic. When we came across them, Ayla specifically wanted to climb all over the branches and strike out some art-nude poses. Who were we to argue 🙂
As far as camera gear was concerned, I was using the opportunity to play with the Nikon D500 crop DSLR, particularly wanting to test it out with continuous and fast AF. It was able to copy admirably with both Ayla walking and running up the beach to give some really nice looks. So a bit of a mixed bag for the afternoon shoot and a very enjoyable one too.
