On my recent trip to the NEC Clothes Show, I mentioned previously that one of the stalls that particularly stood out for me was Lily-J, a range of clothing that is feminine, fashionable and affordable. A winning combination obviously. I spent quite a time on that stall, looking at clothes and accessories that were very feminine I thought, with lots of beige and lace and crochet looking work on the designs that I thought would be perfect for some ideas I’ve got coming up. Was also nice to chat to one of the young ladies that were running the stall about some of their designs. All very nice indeed, particularly when the prices were very reasonable indeed. My plan was to go down to Camden during the Christmas break to get some of their outfits, but the weather has been horrible and I wanted to do quite a bit on the trip to London so making a full day of it. So I reckon a trip needed down to Camden to the Lily-J shop during January.
Well, the Clothes Show is over for another year, I just love going along to the show at the NEC and feeling part of the scene, taking photos, but more importantly getting ideas for my forthcoming shoots. There were many stalls selling t-shirts and more grungy stuff, but that wasn’t really what I was looking for. Also whilst there were a number of vintage and retro clothing shops on display they were mostly unfortunately at very modern prices ie. too expensive. There was one stall that really took my eye though and that was Lily.J from Camden in London and I think I’ll do another chat post about my thoughts on that. So what’s next after the Clothes Show then, well it’s got to be London Fashion Week in Feb 2013 so I’d better get my thoughts together on that and get something organised.
